Just a few things to be mindful about while visiting over the winter period ❄️☃️

❄️ Ice, ice baby. Stop, slow down and drive to the conditions. 🧊

A reminder to drivers to take extra care this time of year with black ice. Even though it is called “black ice,” it’s clear and difficult to spot. Shaded areas can be particularly hazardous.

We grit the roads often, but the district is a large area and conditions change quickly, so we encourage everyone to drive safely and report any issues.

In icy conditions remember to:

🚗 Slow down
🚗 Drop the cruise control
🚗 Increase distance: Leave a gap of at least 4 to 6 seconds between your vehicle and the car ahead.
🚗 Brake gently and accelerate slowly.
