Welcome to Te Tuhi Hillside Retreat!

If you’re new to our page we’re Emily & Joe Wilson, along with our daughters Charlie & Madison, and our furry companions Jazz & Mac! We’re your hosts at Te Tuhi Hillside Retreat, a place we built with love for family, nature, and creativity.

Our story began in 2017 when we bought a neglected piece of land that was once part of Te Tuhi Point farm. Our vision? To create a self-sufficient haven where we could connect with the earth, grow our own food, live off the grid, and embrace daily creativity.

But this paradise soon felt too good to keep to ourselves! Not long after, Te Tuhi Hut and Te Tuhi Dome were born, inviting others to experience the magic of our little slice of heaven.

When we’re not tending to the land, Emily runs her e-commerce business from home, and you can often find her lost in her pottery studio, Te Tuhi Pottery and together we cherish the perfect balance of country tranquility (minutes from the lake!) and convenient access to town (just 15 minutes away!).
