Situated just two minutes south of Te Awamutu’s town centre next door to Matariki Continuing Care unit, we are centrally located for your convenience. What I thought was a leaf turned out to be a beautiful moth. I’ve never seen one this big before. I carefully removed him from the car wiper and put him back in the garden where he was more camouflaged. Any idea what type of moth?

Te Awamutu, Waipa is a fabulous place to live and one of my favourite things is our morning view of Mt Pironiga,

There are some great bush walks suitable for families around Mt Pirongia, including the Kaniwhaniwha Caves Walk and Mangakara Nature Walk. Described by visitors as a "Beautiful place to walk, take time out and grounding". Families are welcome at Matariki Motor Lodge, so stay with us while you enjoy a weekend exploring the nature of Waipa.

And just like that Spring has arrived! My favourite things to see are the tree blossoms and lambs. The bees were buzzing around the blossom trees at the Kihikihi Domain where we were walking Roes and Zen, so we were careful to not get too close.

Just sitting in the almost dark after a power cut. Hopefully everyone is ok out there and the power comes back on soon. It is very wet and cold so drive carefully everyone.
