Calling all Whāingaroa Raglan caterers, chefs and food trucks! 🌿 🍽️

We love working with talented local food people, and we're keen to make more connections!

Over the past year, we added a beautiful outdoor marquee (with plenty of space alongside it for a pop-up kitchen or food truck) and renovated our Homestead kitchen to make it even more catering-friendly.

As we continue to grow as a venue for retreats, gatherings, celebrations and weddings, we'd love to expand our network of local caterers, chefs and food trucks who we can collaborate with or recommend to our guests. From nourishing retreat meals and relaxed shared lunches to wedding feasts and special celebrations, we're keen to hear from people offering all sorts of delicious kai.

A little peek inside our newly renovated Homestead kitchen 👩‍🍳

We've been making some big improvements to our large Homestead lately, all with one intention...to make it an even more beautiful and effortless place for people to gather and stay.

With the help of some of our catering friends, we redesigned the kitchen around both form and function. It now includes a five-burner gas hob, two ovens, two dishwashers, a generously sized fridge, much more bench space for prepping and serving and a separate tea and coffee station so guests and cooks can each stay in their flow 🍽

It’s part of a bigger philosophy we’re bringing to the Homestead and Raglan Rural Retreats: creating spaces that bring people together while making hosting and facilitating feel as easy and intuitive as possible.

The less time spent thinking about logistics, the more time there is for sharing food, doing meaningful work together, slowing down, connecting and whatever else has brought you together in the first place ✨

And this is just the beginning. More updates on the Homestead as they come!

It was such a delicious joy to host the annual Foodie Friends getaway at our Homestead this past weekend, bringing together some of Aotearoa’s best food producers and food experts for a few days of cooking, eating, sharing and connecting.

And what better way to put the Homestead’s newly renovated, catering-friendly kitchen to the test! Safe to say it was very well used. 🌿🍽️

PS. The kitchen is just one part of some pretty exciting changes happening at the Homestead. We’re in the midst of making a few big additions to make this special place even more retreat and gathering-ready. Can’t wait to share more soon! ✨

Our favourite weekend in Raglan is almost here! 🎨

Every spring, our little seaside town seems to burst to life with an extra dose of colour, creativity and energy for Raglan Arts Weekend. This Labour weekend, 24-26 October, more than 70 incredible local artists will showcase their work across Whāingaroa.

Make a weekend of it with us at Raglan Rural Retreats. Spend your days wandering the art trail and discovering dozens of studios tucked around town and the countryside, then retreat back to the peace and quiet of nature for a slow evening under the stars. 🍃

And this year, there’s a little twist…Raglan Rural Retreats will be joining the art trail too, showcasing a different and exciting kind of creative practice.

🎨 Browse our incredible local artists and makers at the Creative Market at the Old School Arts Centre (the next market is on 12 July)
☕ Warm up over locally roasted coffee, caffeine-free chai or hot chocolate at INDI coffee shop, or share some hot chips and enjoy the slow harbour views from the wharf
🛹 Bring the scooters or skateboards and spend an afternoon at the pump track at the Raglan Domain
