Cotswold Cottage Bed & Breakfast

Cotswold Cottage Bed & Breakfast Welcome to Cotswold Cottage Bed & Breakfast Accommodation - the perfect base for exploring the wonderful Coromandel Peninsula. Extra towels are provided.

Our home is a charmingly restored 100 year old villa. Set in the hills above a bend in the Kauaeranga River, this is a stunning place to relax and unwind. The property gets all day sun, and has fantastic views from every room. It is ideally situated for your first night’s accommodation in NZ or the last night of your journey, as we are only an hour’s drive from Auckland International Airport. When

you arrive at Cotswold, you will be welcomed with afternoon tea. We have information on local restaurants for your evening meal, and if you give us plenty of advance notice we can prepare a meal for you. In summer months you may fancy barbequeing your own food, in which case we can prepare for you a BBQ tray. This will allow you to sit in our lovely garden and enjoy one of our marvellous sunsets. In the morning we offer a full continental buffet, followed by a cooked breakfast. If you need to ease your tired traveller’s or tramper’s body, take a spa in our secluded spa pool in our private rear garden. In our guest lounge we have numerous brochures to help with planning your itinerary. We also have a selection of books on NZ birds, flora and seashells, plus magazines. Also in the lounge are a number of board games, and petanque and croquet for outdoor entertainment.

Driving along Ngati Maru Highway last evening, the sunset was beautiful. Couldn't resist taking a pic of the replica Sir Keith Park Hurricane against the sky. Then these lovely white cows in the paddock next door.

There is just something so endearing about cows - these are our current neighbours, a placid small family in a lovely sheltered paddock next door. Those eyelashes!!😌

How lucky are we, to have numerous swimming holes nearby. This one is 2 minutes from our front gate, on the Kauaeranga River. Beautiful deep, clear gently flowing water, just the best for cooling off after a hot afternnoon's gardening. Surprisingly empty of locals on this gorgeous Waitangi Day holiday.

What to do when one has more plums than you can give away, more than you can eat, and more than you can store in the freezer.....make plum jam of course! And then when there are still more, you make roasted plum and red onion chutney. Never a dull moment.
