More good news giving us the warm & fuzzies! We have once again been recognised in cuisinemagazine Good Food Awards. ❤️
After 15 years of doing what we do, it means a lot to know that The Falls Retreat team are continuing to making a contribution to the New Zealand restaurant landscape. With the Michelin Awards recently recognising some of the big players in the big cities, we love that some of the smaller establishments and rural locations are getting a nod. Thank you to all that visit us and our incredible local suppliers that make our dishes taste better!
We are open tomorrow and Sunday for you to taste for yourselves…… remember this is not fine dining. It’s a a small casual alacarte

For those of you in sourdough bread mode, you know only too well about the folding and feeding required! And for those of you still in the dark, we have a Sourdough Breadmaking workshop on Fri 14th August. You will leave full of knowledge with your own sourdough starter and instruction booklet and the inspiration to get started at home . This workshop is suitable for beginners and also those who have already had a go but need some help! $165pp also includes morning tea on arrival and a delicious shared lunch. This weekend is looking HOT at The Falls Retreat 🔥 These beautiful frosty Winter mornings mean we have lots lined up to warm you up!

🔥 The fireplace will be lit in our rustic barn offering all our diners a warm welcome
🚿On Sunday our traditional sauna alongside the cold shower & plunge pool for a dose of Winter wellness
🌶️ Taste test our limited edition housemade hot fermented “Ring Sting” chilli sauce Only a few bottles left for those that can handle the heat!

This time next week on Sunday 2nd August, we are once again offering a dose of wellness by opening the doors to our sauna and cold plunge space for our Locals event. Seating a maximum of 4 people, our traditional sauna has incredible views across the valley and our Bistro is open if you are wanting to make a day of it and join us for Kai afterwards. We know how disappointing it must be when people travel out to us but we have to turn them away due to being closed for a private event or fully booked! This happened last weekend as we were closed on Sunday from late afternoon for a private function and it’s hard on our staff when customers get angry about it !We do welcome walk ins but always best to give us a call , book online or check our socials if you are making a special journey out to us. This weekend we are CLOSED for a wedding on SATURDAY so be sure to join us on Friday or Sunday instead! The fire will be lit and we would LOVE to serve you ❤️

Went to Auckland zoo yesterday and noticed how many grandparents taking care of kids during school holidays - legends! ( even managed to bump into a local Waikino with her grandie). So if tomorrow you are looking for something to do, join us at The Falls Retreat for lunch - let the little ones explore our kids playground, meet the chooks , play the giant jenga and do their colouring in before they tuck into their delicious wood-fired pizza …….while you enjoy a well deserved glass of wine !
