Situated in the heart of the North Canterbury Wine Region in the Waipara Valley, The Old Glenmark Vicarage offers boutique accommodation unlike any other. Bed and breakfast accommodation is available in the homestead, or stay in the self-contained, quaint and quirky barn. Stay in our barn accommodation and relax in our private indoor spa or outdoor pool, and drink wine under the stars around our fire pit. Local restaurants and cafes are just a short drive away, or make use of our BBQ and eat indoors or out. All of our handcrafted wines are available for purchase and enjoy on site, along with beer from our local craft brewery, The Brew Moon Brewing Company.

Take advantage of our bikes available for hire or bring your own, and enjoy the gentle slopes of the Hurunui Cycle Trail that winds through neighbouring vineyards and farmland, and links with some our top winery tasting rooms and food experiences.
With Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve only 45 minutes’ drive away, and Kaikoura only an hour and half, The Old Glenmark Vicarage is the perfect base to explore the wider region. Discover our favourite coast lines, with the beaches and rock pools of Motunau and the picturesque white cliffs of Nape Nape with seals and native bush just a short scenic 45 minute drive away. Put on your hiking boots an explore the tracks of Mt Cass, MT Grey or explore the rock drawings in the Weka Pass. Keen golfers can find courses available at nearby Scargill and Amberley beach, and the neighbouring township of Amberley provides an array of boutique stores, restaurants and cafes. The historic Weka Pass Railway runs from Waipara to Waikari every second Sunday, and the Farmers Market and Craft Market run each Saturday morning, outside the council chambers in Amberley.
The Vicarage Homestead
Stay in the original vicarage built in 1906 , an immaculately restored Edwardian villa.
Choose from one of two rooms for a bed and breakfast experience that offers all the modern comforts you could wish for, whilst enjoying the historic beauty of a by gone era.

The Vicars Room
Stay in the ornate room of the wicked vicar himself in a king size four poster bed. With external access to the established vicarage gardens, and a modern end-suite with shower, this room offers privacy and old world charm.
The Mistresses Chambers
With its original native timber rime panelling , the Divine Daughters Chambers offers a king size bed, en-suite with shower and separate claw foot bath. In room TV and DVD, and external access to the gardens allow for total relaxation. Sit outside on the expansive veranda and enjoy a glass of two of wine.
The Barn
Are you looking for accommodation with a difference? We invite you to relax and play at The Vicarage Barn, the renovated Barn/Stables for the historic Vicarage.
Stand alone and fully self-contained, The Barn has a unique rustic personality complemented with modern facilities, comfy beds upstairs in two rooms both with 1 King bed and 1 Single bed, and space for extra fold away bed if required. A heat pump and pot belly fire keep you toasty and warm while you watch tv or play records on the turntable.
We offer an optional laden breakfast tray. Set in the heart of the Waipara Valley, the Vicarage Barn is the ideal place for couples, family or groups of friends to get away from it all. Enjoy the private indoor spa, wander the established grounds, sip wine and enjoy a long lunch under the veranda and absorb the beauty of the Waipara Valley.
