Hi Campers,

We trust you are getting ready for the on coming winter months and those diesel heaters are working over time.
Not sure if you have court up with the gossip at Uretiti about the imminent resignation of both Adrien and Steve as camp hosts.
After 13 plus years of being associated with the camp and being camp hosts for the past six years we have decided to move on to other adventures.
We both would like to thank you all for your support over our tenure and must say we have enjoyed being here as your hosts.
We have had our share of challengers with covid and cyclones to boot but we survived and are happy that we have contributed to the success of Uretiti.
The Department of Conservation in the coming days will be advertising for our replacements so if any couples out there think that they are up to being the new hosts look out for the advertisement on the government employment site GETS.

Once again thank you for your support and look forward to catching up with you as campers ourselves.

Travel safe,
Steve & Adrien,

Hi all,
We trust you have all had a great year and now our focus in on the up and coming summer season.
Uretiti over the past year or so has been ravished by climatic events. However, we are so happy that the camp is now running to 90% operational. We have no lakes and the camp is looking the best it has in a long time.
A friendly reminder of the up and coming periods that you will need to book for. Firstly, Labour weekend : 25th to 28th of October. Bookings have been strong so make sure you book in to ensure your spot.
Of course, also the Christmas/New Year period. It is so important to have a booking done in time. We are expecting another busy period as last year.
Bring on summer and look forward to catching up with you all in the coming months. Stay safe and safe travels.

We would like to wish every one a Merry Christmas. If you are planning on visiting us over the holiday season we welcome you aboard.
If you have not made a booking to-date please go online and do so as this is our busiest period. We are looking forward to a far better year than last year even though it's been not the start we hopeful.
However, we are going to have a bumper. Please also remember we are "pack in pack out" now so come prepared.
Look foward seeing you all again.
Safe travels.

Steve and Adrien,

Greeting campers,

Summer is upon us and we are gearing up for a hot and busy season.
As today, bookings over the Christmas/New year period are full from the 29th of December to the 2nd of January.
Our flooding situation has vastly improved and the major lakes are all but gone. However, the ground under is still not usable.
On a sober note, this weekend is International Crate day. We, at the camp, last year experienced some of the worst behavior by individuals celebrating the occasion. In light of this, if any one is intending or already have booked for this weekend 1st and 2nd of December with the sole intent to celebrate crate day we suggest you rethink your plans.
Any person or group found intoxicated will be refused entry and/or asked to leave the camp.
We, the management, will NOT put up with similar behavior as last year and will be intending to place a liquor ban for the weekend.
We also have been advised that the local police will be doing spot checks to ensure the region is kept safe.
If any one know of people intending to visit our camp please let them know the situation.
However, if you are planning to visit us for other reasons, we welcome you and will ensure your stay with us is relaxing and enjoyable.

We thank you all for your consideration.

See you all soon,

Steve & Adrien,

Hi Campers,
The weather is improving, the sky's are blue and we at the camp are getting ready for a great summer season.
You all will be pleased to hear that from tomorrow Tuesday we will be opening up the front / beach side of the camp. We still have some area that are not usable and roped off so please still be careful where you are setting up your site.
It has now been over six months since we have been able to do this and with the help of a handful of helpers we have cleaned up to our best ability for your camping experience.
The road around the camp is now ONE WAY So please ensure you adhere to this.

We are looking forward to hosting you all again in the coming months. Safe travel.

Hi Campers,

Just a heads up that bookings for next season come online tomorrow 2nd of August.
We highly suggest you do not delay with your bookings. As you all know we at the camp have been challenged with the weather situation we have experienced over the past few months.
Due to this we have had to at this stage reduce numbers for the holiday period. Please also remember a minimum of 3 nights is required to book from 29/12/23 to 01/01/24.
We are optimistic that our numbers can increase with no more excessive rain in the next coming months.
We are totally committed to remedy all our camping areas however can not guarantee this will happen.
This is a mile stone year for many people so look forward to making sure our camp will deliver a great experience as usual.
Look forward to another great memory for all those that join us.

Hi campers,

Just a heads up that Easter is closing in fast and booking are getting up there. With reduced capacity I suggest you book your stay if planning on the last long weekend for a while.
We have been full on preparing the camp for the weekend. However, even reduced, it is looking great. The weather is settled and summer has finally arrived.

Look forward seeing you soon.
Safe travels

Good morning campers,

We are very pleased to advise as of Monday 6th March we will reopen to you all . Even though we still have many areas effected by flooding we are confident that there is enough safe camping areas available.
As there will be majorly reduced numbers it will be essential that you book on line beforehand.
We ask that you please observe all the restricted areas either coned off or roped off for your safety and comfort.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon

Hi Campers,

Just an update with regards to our camp and reopening plan.
As you all know we got hit pretty hard from the cyclone. However, we must say bad as it is our hearts go out the the Hawke's Bay region with their devastation.
The situation is at present the beach side of the camp is totally out of action with still huge amount of flooding and garden damage.
In the past few weeks we have been concentrating on getting the back side of the camp operational and safe for everyone. We still have a little amount of surface water still standing. However, this is slowly disappearing.
Our target is to have this area ready to open up early next week.
Many of you have asked about Easter and we are confident we will be operational well before this but with very limited space. So we suggest if you planning for the long weekend bookings will be essential.
Today Otamure and Puriri bay camps reopened so if you are on the road and in the area you can visit them.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.
Safe travels.

Hi Campers,

Update on our situation. Due to the recent cyclone that has savaged our beautiful region, a decision has been made to keep our camp closed for a further period until 28th of February.
The flooding has exceeded more than 80% of the area and this is going to take some time to rectify.
At this point DOC will review the situation at the end of the month in relationship to the camp and make a decision going forward.
We are committed to getting the camp as operational as soon as we can. However, your health and safety come first. DOC will be making a decision with regards to all the other facilities on Monday 20th. Therefore, for further updates please go online.

See you all back soon.
