Must be wedding season, lol! These pics are of a lovely couple here in January. They seized upon the idea of being adventurous and made good use of our decks, bush walk and bridges. She arrived in her red embroidered dress straight from the traditional tea drinking ceremony, and then changed into her formal white gown, Gorgeous and entertaining for us to watch from our dining room.

Just received these pics from a February 2014 Guest's stay. For a change, the Groom, and his Bestman and Groomsman got ready at Bush Sand and Sea B&B. Wedding groups are a delight to watch- all the intense preparations, the laughter and the fun, as they move around the B&B and its paths, decks, steps, etc.

Walking down our bus track this week, noticed the following: native orchids are out in abundance, hanging onto nikau palms; picked up an empty tui shell; heard lots of morepork calling as we went down the track last night with a bat monitor, (didn't locate any bats though), but the glow worms are twinkling brightly. Glorious quiet evenings, warm and still.

If you walk down the track or quietly sit on the decks, at this time of year, you will be treated to the coo-ing, flapping and comical antics of the kereru (native pigeon) as they feast on the cabbage tree berries, and other fruit in the mid canopy of the bush. The other day we saw a Tui in the bird bath, and as it left, down came a blackbird, magic!

Two weekends available in June! 14-16, and 21-23, then nothing for 2 months! So if you want a cosy break away, take advantage of our "stay 3 nights, pay for 2" which should include a friday or monday on either side of a weekend.

We are available again after 15 March. The wood pigeons (native kereru) are aplenty, enjoying fruits of nikau, karaka, puriri and kahikatea close to the Unit. Nice autumnal weather to enjoy.

Just to say that we are now fully booked until March 15, with lovely Guests from Holland, returning to us for a 2nd time. Our availability calendars is online for thereafter, so check us out... there is plenty of year to come:)
