What a fantastic afternoon at camp yesterday celebrating our annual Pavlova Competition 🍰

A big thank you to everyone who entered, and to the wider camp community and visitors who came along to watch the judging, cheer on the bakers, and soak up the atmosphere. Events like this are all about fun, connection, and a good dose of friendly competition.

We were especially impressed to see that three of this year’s prize winners were first-time entrants. Proof that having a go is half the magic.

Thanks to gold coin donations for tasting, we’re proud to say $370 was raised for the Waitārere Volunteer Fire Brigade. An outstanding result for a vital local service.

A huge thank you to the crew of the Waitārere Volunteer Fire Brigade for coming along early with the fire truck and making the day extra special. The kids (and kids at heart) loved exploring the truck and having a turn on the hose reel. Your time, energy, and community spirit are truly appreciated 🚒

Thank you everyone for supporting the event and helping make it such a memorable, feel-good afternoon.

🥝 PAVLOVA COMPETITION THIS LONG WEEKEND! 🥝

This beauty here is our 1st Prize for this weekend’s upcoming Hydrabad Holiday Park Pavlova Competition 👀✨

🍰 Who can enter?
Anyone who is camping with us this long weekend – young, old and everyone in between!

📜 The rules (just one!)
Your pavlova must be cooked at camp.
Bring your own supplies… or beg, borrow (or steal 😉) from someone else in camp.

👩‍🍳 Never baked a pavlova before?
Perfect. This is all about fun, giving it a go, and having a laugh – not being a master baker.

🎁 Prizes to be won and plenty of bragging rights!
We’d love to see as many entries as possible, so don’t be shy – get involved!

More details in previous posts. Judging time is likely to he around the 6.30pm time but we will confirm later

What a stunning weekend here at Waitārere Beach for the All Points Camping NZ Camping Club. We were happy to host you all for your
“Relaxing break at Waitārere Beach” weekend. The weather has been amazing and we hope you all enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you to your club hosts, for this event, Margaret and Graham. Hope to see you all again sometime.

We still have some powered and unpowered sites available for Easter 🐣 🐰 weekend. The weather forecast is looking a lot better with Saturday and Sunday seemingly fine with no rain.

Our 5th annual camp Pavlova competition was a massive success. We had 10 entries this year and they all looked amazing. Special mention to the kids entry with M&M’s and blueberry topping and to Linda’s R18 whiskey sauce pav, both these entries receiving the peoples choice vote.
Our place getters this year were:
3rd - Cheryl with berry topping
2nd - Deb with a coffee Pavlova
1st - Tineka with a lovely topping of peaches and cream
Congratulations to all entrants and also to our 3 judges Roger, Jude and Craig.
As in other years, a gold coin donation for a taste after judging, raises money for our local Waitārere Volunteer Fire Brigade. This year we raised an astounding $360!!
Thank you all so much. Get practicing and maybe next year will be your year 😃
