Dismal fact: This proposed mine above the Clutha River, the Mata-Au - is just a little over 34km as the crow flies from the head of the Mata-Au where Outlet Camp is situated. - A good Southerly could blow particulate matter towards us. There are numerous health risks this proposed mine threatens us all with. Please follow Sustainable Tarras for qualified information.

Criminal.

Well known Central Otago resident Sam Neill posted this statement just a few hours ago on social media, and has been flooded with support and comments in opposition to the mine (thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments already).

Sam's family has lived in Otago for over 160 years, and he's obviously felt so strongly against the controversial mine that he's chosen to speak out.

Thank you, Sam, for using your mana and platform to highlight this fast-track horror. It's great to know we are not alone. Legend!
