hour from many scenic attractions of the Northern Buller Region - north to Kahurangi National Park, Heaphy Track, Oparara Valley with it's Limestone Arches and Honeycomb Caves; and south to Charming Creek Walkway, Denniston Plateau, Cape Foulwind Seal Colony and Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. The region maintains much of its eccentricity and wilderness, offering an opportunity to get close to nature. The Kawatiri Nature Environment & Communities Trust is involved in some fantastic initiatives in the Buller region. One of them is creating walking and biking trails which will access a backcountry hut at Gentle Annie-ideal for young families looking for their first overnight adventure. There are some amazingly talented individuals involved in the project including the renowned track designer Hamish Seaton, local legend trail builder Nigel Williams and project lead Glenn Irving the force behind so much in the Buller. All 3 have been involved in the Kawatiri Coastal Trail, The Paparoa, and the Old Ghost Road so it’ll be exciting to see this project unfold. The Ma Earth fund is a unique way for the trust to gain from small donations by way of matching by the fund. A big thank you to Cath and the team at Beds R Us Westport Buller Beds and Furniture for the new couches. They’re looking great in our holiday homes! We were really impressed by the selection available, and Cath made the whole process easy. Glenn and Leeroy went above and beyond getting the furniture into some difficult places and helping relocate the replacements to the Sallies. How lucky are we to have such a great furniture business right here in Buller!
