A crowd of over 300 locals and holiday-makers saw Ra being blessed and heard about the on-going work in the Whakatane area by the Kiwi Trust. Ra was then taken to the Ohope Scenic Reserve to join this season's chicks including Ra's sibling Whiti.

Yay. The Busy season has began. The weather has been great, as well as the surf, and Whakatane and Ohope beach is humming. We have decided to be open about renting out our whole house. It is 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, beautiful views. 5 minutes walk to town and only 5 minutes drive to beautiful Ohope beach. It is available at this stage from the 2 Jan- 13 Jan. If you have friends or family coming to the Eastern Bay, or thinking about holidaying here yourself, please send me a message.

Some of the girls went surfing last night and had to wait for some orca to swim by. Tis the season. Have I ever said that I love Whakatane.

I Love Ohope Beach. First day out helping Beaver at the Salt Spray School School. Beautiful weather, beautiful little waves, cool students. Hot shower and cuppa tea to finish. Where else in New Zealand would you get service like that. I think it must be the best place to learn to surf.

Hey I just found this amazing website www.collinswooddesigns.co.nz They are stunning wood sculptures that are made locally in Whakatane but they deliver all over New Zealand. I have one in my garden at the B and B and love it. Well worth a look, and great idea for Christmas pressies. They have heaps of different designs.
