A massive thank you to Mid West Helicopters NZ for hauling in the hives for this season's Bees & Trees Manuka Honey.

Every year since 2016, these hives get dropped off up the top of the reserve so the bees can forage on the reka putiputi o te ngahere ki Rotokare (the sweet forest flowers at Rotokare). This includes mānuka, kāmahi, rewarewa/ New Zealand honeysuckle, five different species of rātā and lots of other native flora. While their visit will be short and sweet, these bees will work hard to make the signature Bees and Trees smooth, delicious and thick raw honey.

Getting these hives to wear they need to go is hard mahi, so getting a helping hand from the sky is the easiest way to achieve this. The team at Mid West flew the hives up to the top of the steep terrain with ease, and these bees will start their Rotokare foraging.
