THE MORNING AFTER THE WORLD CUP – MATCH ONE!!!!

A guest, whose identity will forever be concealed, stumbled to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast for himself.

Having arranged things to his satisfaction, he sat down to enjoy his repast, only to pause with a quizzical expression on his stubbled visage. Something was missing – but what?

It slowly dawned on him that he was lacking his teeth!

Our guest trudged off to his bedroom, returning some time later, with teeth in place.

It seems he had made it to his room after the match, had fallen into his bed and his false teeth had fallen out under the blankets.

And this is only day one.

We’re currently hosting 65 members of the Virtuoso Strings youth orchestra. They are putting on a concert tomorrow night (Wednesday 17 April) at the Royal Wanganui Opera House. The concert is available for a donation. Wanganui people, come along for a night out at 7.30 pm and support these young people. Please share to spread the word.

Soooo frustrating. Orcon service stopped about midday yesterday. We have a full house, no phones, no wifi except the data on the cell phone and worst of all we cannot process payments.
And the message on the Orcon site is ambiguous and has not been updated since yesterday.
Absolutely abysmal service.

Nice Letter From Guests
Recently we provided the venue for a private function, which went well. The organisers have kindly thanked us, publicly, with a letter in the Wanganui Chronicle:

Hip hooray for Hikurangi Stay Place (a Wanganui treasure tucked into secluded native bush redolent with birdsong).

We recently held a private party for family and friends. We needed somewhere with an intimate atmosphere. The perfect find was at Hikurangi Stay Place.

Sean, the co-owner, suggested we use the beautiful chapel for our gathering. It was ideal! Sean was the epitome of "mine host", with his generous support with our arrangements.

We were delighted to also be able to have our out-of-town guests accommodated at this beautiful place.

Thank you, Sean, for the sterling job of promoting the ongoing use of this stunning Wanganui treasure.

I took our hard-working wwoofers up the Whanganui River Road to show them the usual things, but then went on to Turoa, where I haven't been before. There was nothing happening, of course, but I wanted to see how long it took from Hikurangi (about one and a half hours). I took a couple of photos while we were up there.

We've just had three fantastic days with a family reunion group who arrived from around the world. Lots of fun, laughter and music. Great time thanks everyone. And to top it off, a nice card and box of choccies for us.

What a beautiful day. Went for a "Drive around the block". Roads a bit muddy and a few slips, but what a day! Views of the mountains were great
