Tutukaka Holiday Park - New Zealand

Tutukaka Holiday Park - New Zealand Hosts David and Rena Scott welcome your inquiries about the Tutukaka Holiday Park. We are within metres of the Tutukaka marina and boat ramp.

The park is situated in a scenic valley just 20 km northeast of Whangarei on Northland's beautiful Tutukaka coastline. We have come to the end of our lease of the holiday park which is now again in the capable hands of the park's owners Grant and Denise Allan.

We have escaped to Bangkok, Thailand, to get away from the approaching New Zealand winter!

Thanks to all who visited the park during our tenancy for your patronage!

The Scott family :-)

We decided to put down a hangi on Saturday January 13. A hangi is the traditional way the indigenous Maori people cook their food, by burying it in the ground where it is cooked by steam generated by the heat from preheated river rocks (or - as on this occasion, pieces of steel).

First, a pit about two feet deep is dug; then, logs of firewood are put across the pit, with more wood and the pieces of steel (or rocks) piled on top of these. The wood is then set alight to heat up the rocks or pieces of steel on top of the pile of wood.
