Superb accommodation with modern function venue set in beautiful gardens by Cooks Beach, Coromandel Peninsula. 3-Bedroom Houses with Accessible options and 1-Bedroom Cottages open all year. Open all year, Flaxmill Accommodation is located in Flaxmill Bay - a quiet, seaside community on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, near popular Cooks Beach, Hahei, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach.

From fully equipped 3 bedroom Houses (sleeping 2-6) to charming 1 bedroom Cottages (for singles/couples). We also offer a boutique, family-friendly campground with generous campsites and sleeper cabins for those who love the camping experience but also like to have their own space with quality facilities. Also onsite is a modern Conference Centre for small to medium business conferences, retreats and strategic getaways (up to 50 people).

Winter is right around the corner, which means Seal Silly Season is almost upon us 🦭

Planning on catching the ferry over to Whitianga for dinner? Keep an eye out for fury locals coming in for a fishy snack 🎣

If you see a kēkeno (NZ fur seal) remember:
🦭 Keep a safe distance, even if they are in the water
🦭 Do not feed or disturb them
🦭 If a seal is in real trouble (tangled, trapped, being hassled), call DOC on 0800 362 468

🌿 Maramaratotara Bay and Ferry Landing Loop Track

Just a stones throw from your front door here at Flaxmill, enjoy the challenging but rewarding 2.5km track overlooking Mercury Bay & Whitianga. The track starts 600m up the road from Flaxmill and takes you up and over the hill and down to Back Bay and Ferry Landing wharf. Return the way you came or follow the road back to Flaxmill to make it a loop.

🥾 Good shoes and a reasonable level of fitness is required for this track, it can be slippery, muddy and steep in places. Take care.

🌀 Take a slight detour at Whitianga rock and walk up to the historic Māori Pa site, a beautiful spot to stop and enjoy the views over to Whitianga. There are a number of other benches and look outs to stop at and take in the view (catch your breath).

☕️ Call into .eggsentric cafe for a coffee on your way.
