🌿🦥🐦 Exploring the incredible biodiversity of Bocas del Toro through forests, wetlands, mangroves, islands, and mid-elevation cloud forests was an unforgettable experience in Tranquilo Bay.
Each day brought new landscapes, unique encounters with wildlife, and excellent opportunities for birdwatching in the lowlands of Panama’s western Caribbean. From spotting the impressive Snowy Cotinga on Popa Island, the Great Potoo in San San-Pond Sak, and the Northern Emerald-Toucan in the Fortuna highlands, to enjoying close encounters with sloths, monkeys, trogons, toucans, hawks, and many other tropical species, every moment reflected the natural richness of Panama’s ecosystems. 🌊🌴🪸
One of the most memorable moments of the trip was witnessing a Black-and-white Owl successfully hunt a rodent at dawn: a truly unforgettable experience for the entire group.
From mangroves and tropical forests to wetlands and mountain reserves, this experience demonstrated the extraordinary connection between the ecosystems that make Bocas del Toro one of Panama’s most biodiverse regions. ✨
