🌊 Waves in the ground - https://mailchi.mp/tranquilobay.com/octoberearthquake I think about this as one idea. BUILT FOR PLACE: to build with what a place has already shown you it can do. Bocas shakes a little all the time. Small tremors are part of life here, and we built our property and our buildings to handle them. Our buildings are post and beam, so they can move as needed. Our towers are guy-wired to keep them steady. October 9 was the biggest test we have seen. Everything held.

OCTOBER IS HERE 🐦
Peak migration season is calling.
🍃 October brings one of the most special times of the year for birdwatching at Tranquilo Bay.
During this season, migration reaches one of its busiest periods, and our gardens become a gathering place for many of the birds making their way through Panama on their journey.
Our green spaces provide food, shelter, and places to rest, making them an ideal habitat for observing migratory birds up close.
From small birds moving through the vegetation to species taking a pause during their long journey, every visit is an opportunity to discover something new.

🌿 GATHERING GROUNDS 2026⁠
On October 14 and 15, the Regenerative Travel community will come together virtually for Gathering Grounds: A Global Gathering for Regeneration.⁠
Two days of conversations, connections, and shared learning among hoteliers, travel designers, conservationists, and change-makers who are exploring new ways to build a more regenerative future for tourism. ⁠
We’re excited to share that Renee Kimball from Tranquilo Bay will be part of one of the panels at this year’s event, contributing her experience and perspective from our work in conservation and responsible tourism in Bocas del Toro, Panama. ⁠

Mollie and her group of friends had an experience exploring and connecting with the extraordinary biodiversity of Bocas del Toro during their visit to Tranquilo Bay. 🌿⁠
During their visit, they explored different trails and natural habitats, discovering the incredible wildlife that makes this region so special. Among the highlights were the Jabiru and several poison dart frogs, as well as an impressive variety of birds.⁠
From the forest to the wetlands and other sites explored during their stay, each outing offered new opportunities to observe, learn, and connect with nature.⁠

🐒 The jungle has its own voices. ⁠
⁠
On our outdoor tours, we explore different landscapes in Bocas del Toro where we can spot Mantled Howler Monkeys high up in the treetops.⁠
Sometimes they peek out from among the leaves, and other times their distinctive call lets us know they’re nearby. We don’t see them at the lodge itself, but out at other locations if you keep your eyes and ears open… you never know what you might encounter along the way.⁠
