Bliss Beach Panamá is a resort on remote Playa Lagartero, just outside of Santa Catalina, Panama. The Bliss Beach compound is home to the Tropical Sounds Studio and Venue and Kokodrilo Bar and Grill. Escape to an astonishing 'Cast-Away'-setting on Panama's wild, Pacific coastline. Internationally known for its perfect surf conditions Santa Catalina is a trending fisherman's village with the opportunities to experience world-class scuba diving in Coiba national park (also to be explored on Snorkel or hiking trips!), to relax on either one of the vibrant town beaches or our very secluded Playa Lagartero, to go fishing with the locals or to enjoy a fresh seafood dinner provided by our amazing chef in our new restaurant, Kokodrilo Bar and Grill. We're happy to help with any reservations of the various activities offered in Santa Catalina:
- Scuba Diving
- Snorkeling
- Horseback riding (on-site)
- Surfing lessons
- Yoga classes (mornings and afternoons)
- Fishing trips
- Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP; provided both on- and off-site)
- Day trips to either one of the surrounding islands (Isla Leona, Isla Cebaco, Isla Coiba, etc.) or the waterfall of Las Palmas, Veraguas, Panama
.. and much more! We offer breakfast and dinner day in, day out, also for non-hotel customers. Reservations are welcomed but not mandatory. We also offer free Wifi, free on-site parking, laundry service and a shuttle service to Santa Catalina and under certain circumstances to Sona. Life keeps moving, and so do we!

The very moment the earthquake struck, I was on FaceTime with Smoking Moe, our web design guru and barbecue specialist whose legendary cookouts on our massive parrilla bring folks from far and wide. We were putting the final touches on our new and improved website. Moe was in Panama City, I was in Lagartero, hundreds of miles away, and we BOTH felt it! That gives you an idea of the magnitude of this thing. 😳

But life goes on, and our new website is officially LIVE! 🎉

Even after everything, we’re preparing to welcome you back to Hibiscus Garden / Bliss Beach Panama! Four of our 16 rooms remain available, and our pool, poolside bar, yoga deck, parrilla, and, of course, the beach are all operational.

In the meantime, we’re operating on a bed-and-breakfast model, with all your favorite adventures still available: surf lessons, horseback riding, daily yoga, snorkeling in Coiba, and so much more!

One of our favorite new features is the Retreat Builder, where you can plan your entire jungle retreat, choosing your activities, dates, group size, and more. Whether you’re organizing a yoga getaway, a surf adventure, or something completely your own, we’ve made it easier than ever.

We’re rebuilding, we’re moving forward, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone helping us get there. 🙏🏽

PEACE! The recent Panama earthquake has left our property severely damaged. Our restaurant and much of the hotel require a complete rebuild, and our Catalina Combat Club gym infrastructure needs massive structural repairs.But our first priority isn’t the walls—it’s the humans inside them.Hotel Hibiscus Garden/Bliss Beach Panama is an anchor for our local community. We support 10 incredible staff members and their extended families, sponsor our local soccer club CD Lagartero, adopt our local school, and serve as a cultural haven for retreats, artists and community functions. From floor to roof, in our restaurant, bar and even our stage - Bliss Sustains ♻️🪵🪑🌎

We use locally and ethically sourced hardwoods and other materials (shells, coconuts etc.) to lessen both our carbon footprint and the impact on the local flora and fauna. 🙏🏽✨🫶🏽
