If you can imagine what Hawaii must have been like 100 years ago, before all the development during the 20th century, you can perhaps begin to appreciate what Isla Saboga and the Pearl Islands has to offer. It is perhaps one of the world’s last unspoiled archipelagos, and the fact that it is only 35 miles from vibrant Panama City makes it even more special. Our home, El Remanso, is part of the El

Encanto beach development, an eco-friendly grouping of tree-top villas overlooking the beaches on the west side of Isla Saboga. El Encanto has a palapa-style restaurant on the beach, and it supplies kayaks, beach chairs and umbrellas, and also coordinates activities such as fishing and sailing for guests. Our B&B has 2 bedroom suites and a studio apartment that are available for guests.

Worth the wait! 🐋☁️

A overcast day in Panama meant we needed a little extra patience on the water today, but nature always delivers. These raw, unedited moments of wild humpback whales gliding past El Remanso are pure magic—no professional camera gear required.

There is nothing quite like witnessing these gentle giants in their natural element right from our backyard. 🌿✨

The island transforms into a vibrant, lush paradise, where brief tropical showers clear the air and leave everything glowing. It’s the perfect season for curled-up reading sessions with the sound of the ocean in the background, followed by peaceful afternoon walks on an almost empty beach.
