Andean Explorer was created by Tito Olaza in 1990 as a means of opening the door for travelers and outdoor adventurers to this spectacular corner of the World. It is a website dedicated to providing useful and up-to-date information about the Huaraz area, including the adventures to be had in the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Huayhuash of Peru. The Andean Explorer team includes Tito Olaza at the helm, working with a group of professional expedition organizers, operators, guides, logisticians, and generally HUGE fans of this part of the World. What Andean Explorer endeavors to provide to its patrons is a match-making service so to speak, helping connect individuals or groups looking for the right hotel, right guide service, or simply the right information with exactly that. Our goal is to treat each trip we help organize as a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience, and to put each person’s interests, safety, and climbing or trekking aspirations into only the most trustworthy of hands.

All connections made for our clients are done so without adding a percentage onto the operator’s price, thereby costing extra money in the search for the right services in Huaraz. Tito Olaza was born and raised in Huaraz Peru and has been working with travelers and adventurers in the Cordillera Blanca for over 20 years now. His hotel, Olazas Guesthouse, is one of the most popular places to stay in the city, much due to the extraordinary ambiance that Tito has created. Through his experience working with so many climbers and trekkers, he has learned the intricacies of what visitors to the area are looking for in their trips and how those expectations can be met. As a local in Huaraz, he has made strong connections with the best guiding outfits in the area, watched them serve their clients well over the years, and is therefore in a great position to match up people looking for a spectacular trip with the operator who can and will provide just that.
