Its unmistakable silver beak and the intense color of its plumage make it one of the most striking birds in the Amazon. But it's not just its beauty that makes it stand out: it's a common species in the Tambopata forests, where it usually moves between the undergrowth and the riverbanks in search of fruits and insects.

Every June 24th, the Amazon celebrates one of its most important festivals: La Fiesta de San Juan. 🌿🎉

From very early in the morning, families and visitors gather on the riverbanks to participate in the traditional blessed bath, a custom that symbolizes purification, well-being, and good wishes for the coming year. Then come the music, Amazonian dances, allegorical parades, and, of course, the star of the day: the traditional juane, shared with family and friends.

It is a celebration where water, culture, and Amazonian identity come together to remind us of the profound bond that unites people with the rainforest. ✨🌿
