In response to the commercial homogenization of global wellness centers and community development, the ‘CACHIYACU’ (cachi=salt, yacu=water) project is calling for the rediscovery of place and the value it contributes to our quality of life and livelihood.
It is a call to rediscover what it means to be a native of a place, to be able develop roots and community in the midst of a tropical rainforest village nested between the lake, mountains and dormant volcano.
To regenerate this connection to place, we offer more than just sophisticated comfort, elegant vernacular architecture and tranquility. First and foremost, we offer, a metanoia (i.e. a Change of Mind) in how we as a culture view place, what its inherent value and role (economically, socially, culturally, and ecologically) is in the world, and what our ethical role as humans is in co‐creating and evolving with the places in which we live.
Cachiyacu is a transformation.
