🐘 WAIT… IS THAT AN ELEPHANT UNDERWATER?!

Not quite… but we can see why your brain went there! 😆🌊

Meet one of the sea’s strangest-looking foodies — a sea cucumber with feeding tentacles that look remarkably like tiny elephant feet! 🐘

Those funny black “feet” aren’t legs at all. They’re feeding tentacles, which this sea cucumber uses to scoop up tasty little bits from the seafloor and bring them to its mouth.

No trunk. No ears. No tusks.
Just a sea cucumber borrowing a few ideas from an elephant! 😂

It’s funny how we humans can’t seem to look at one animal without seeing another one hiding in it. A little cross-species imagination at work! 🐘🥒

The underwater world really does come up with some wonderfully weird designs.

Meet one of our tiny night-shift workers! If you’ve stayed with us, you’ve probably heard these colorful guys before you’ve seen them. 🦎

Our Tokay geckos are usually busy after dark, calling from somewhere around the resort with their unmistakable “ge-kooo, ge-kooo!”. They’re not just making noise, but also a great help since they love hunting insects like mosquitoes.

Ever wondered what makes them have such good grip on ceilings and walls? Tokay geckos have tiny hair-like structures on their feet that allow them to grip smooth surfaces, which is why they can casually walk across walls and ceilings.💙

Our repeating guest Jacek knows exactly why he likes to visit us in August. More quiet days, plenty of diving and this time for part of his three-week stay, the whole resort was basically his kingdom. So of course we crowned him King of Magic Oceans! 👑

It was great having you back and we miss you already, Jacek! 🌊

Back in the water! 🌊

After some time in drydock for maintenance, it feels good to see her all fresh in the ocean again. A few finishing touches left and then she’s ready for awesome days of diving again! 🤿

Not the usual catch of the day!

Yesterday Wijnand, Sandra and Lee Ann found this ghost net stuck on one of our local reefs and decided to take it out today. Well done guys and thank you for helping take care of our reef! 💙
