Love That Chose the Cross
WALK WITH JESUS: A Journey Through Holy Week
Good Friday is not loud. It is not rushed. It is a day that asks us to slow down and look at the cross.
Jesus did not arrive at the cross by accident. He walked toward it. Step by step, knowing what it would cost. The pain, the rejection, the suffering, the weight of sin. He saw it all, and still, He chose to continue.
In John 19:30, Jesus declares, “It is finished.” These were not words of defeat. They were words of completion. The work of love, sacrifice, and redemption had been carried out fully.
The cross is not only a symbol of suffering. It is the clearest expression of God’s love. A love that did not hold back. A love that did not turn away. A love that chose to stay, even when it meant pain.
Jesus was not forced to endure the cross. He embraced it. For you. For every mistake, every failure, every moment you felt unworthy. The cross carries the weight of all of it.
Good Friday invites us to stop and reflect. Not just on what happened, but on what it means. You are loved more deeply than you realize. Not because you earned it, but because God chose to give it.
Sometimes we try to move too quickly past this day. But there is something sacred in staying here for a moment. In allowing the reality of the cross to settle into your heart.
This is love that does not leave. Love that does not give up. Love that stays until it is finished.
Today, do not rush. Stay at the cross. Let His love meet you there.
Reflection:
What does the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross mean to you personally?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for choosing the cross for me. Help me understand the depth of Your love and receive it fully. Teach me to live in response to what You have done. I choose to remember and stay close to You today.
