Misamis Oriental’s tourism landscape demonstrates strong domestic demand, growing international reach, and expanding employment opportunities. In 2025, the Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador City overwhelmingly led domestic arrivals with 707,812 visitors, while also recording 2,965 foreign visitors, far ahead of other destinations. Claveria View Deck ranked second among domestic tourists, while Iluminda Garden Resort and Salay Amusement Park also attracted substantial visitation. Foreign arrivals, although smaller in volume, were distributed across coastal and resort destinations such as Mantangale Alibuag Dive Resort, Don Arc Beach Resort, and Isidro’s Beach Resort, highlighting the province’s potential for international beach and nature tourism.
The tourism industry is also strengthening its capacity. As of August 2026, the province had 58 DOT-accredited establishments, led by 23 Mabuhay Accommodations and 14 restaurants. Employment in accredited establishments increased from 596 in 2024 to 735 in 2025, remaining strong at 729 in 2026—evidence that tourism continues to generate meaningful local livelihoods.
