Two years ago, Yolanda/Haiyan made landfall in the beautiful island of Bantayan. Houses were flattened, trees uprooted, livelihood damaged and lives lost. The island was left dry, the leaves turned brown, the pristine white sand beaches were full of debris and the entire island looked so terrible we became uncertain if the beauty will ever come back. It was a very painful day and just like most businesses, it was hard for us to recover. Luckily enough and with God's help, we were able to finish fixing the damages after over a year. Most people may have recovered but still, we cannot bring back the lives lost. We are offering a prayer to remember everyone who died or who lost someone on that day, be it in Bantayan Island, Tacloban, Guian or any other part of the country. May they rest in peace.
