In December 2021, Typhoon Odette cast its fierce winds upon our cherished Balay Kalachuchi, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The once serene retreat nestled at the top of a cliff in Barili, southern Cebu, faced a category 5 typhoon that tested not only the structure but the spirit of our sanctuary.

Edith, our trusted caretaker, found herself in the heart of the storm. While we could protect her, we couldn't protect the house, which was completely destroyed. It was a daunting experience, a test of endurance, into the walls of Balay Kalachuchi.

Today, as we unveil a fresh chapter in our story, we proudly present the new face of Balay Kalachuchi. Now, after overcoming rebuilding challenges, we reveal a fresh start! Our home is not just rebuilt; it's reborn. With a new look, our haven by the sea stands as a symbol of rebirth and renewal.
