ABOUT MTBK (MGA TAGA BATO KAMI): MTBK or Mga Taga Bato Kami was founded in 2009 by Bogs Rempola and Darlene Sunas Rempola as a social media group of friends around the world that originates from Bato, Camarines Sur, Philippines. On November 1, 2011, MTBK became an official charitable organization using the name as MTBK Foundation. MTBK Foundation registered in California and became a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit charitable foundation approved by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of United States of America.
YEAR 2011: The main objective of MTBK Foundation was to help the indigent families of Bato, Camarines Sur, Philippines by sending relief in times of hardship caused by strong typhoons. Historically, the town of Bato, Camarines Sur gets hit by an average of five typhoons every year. Out of these typhoons, at least one has a possibility to become a super typhoon. When a super typhoon hits, it destroys the homes of the indigent families that are made only by bamboo and nipa huts. As a result, the affected families will be homeless for months. MTBK Foundation helped ease the sufferings of the affected families by sending relief.
MTBK FOUNDATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION:
1. Sent relief goods to the typhoon victims of Bato, Camarines Sur during the devastation of Typhoon Juaning in year 2011. MTBK Foundation provided relief goods to over 300 indigent families whose homes were destroyed by the typhoon.
2. In December of 2011, MTBK provided Christmas gifts to the indigent families of Bato, Camarines Sur. The gifts in form of “tsinelas” were distributed through Father Nonito Barra at Holy Trinity Parish Church.
3. Founded the MTBK Foundation Library in April of 2012.
DISSOLUTION OF MTBK FOUNDATION:
In 2015, MTBK Foundation filed for dissolution with the state of California and ended its entity as a charitable organization. The main purpose for the dissolution was to transition MTBK from a non-profit organization to a profitable company based in Bato, Camarines Sur, Philippines.
2017 MTBK CO:
In 2017, MTBK CO started investing business projects in Bato, Camarines Sur as a profitable company of the Philippines. In addition, MTBK continued to invest in the town’s community development by sponsoring community sport events such as basketball tournaments and by sending more books to MTBK Library.
2018 MTBK CO:
In 2018, MTBK CO officially filed for a business permit in the Philippines. In June of 2018, the company started the construction project of multiple business complex in Santiago, Bato, Camarines Sur. The project created over thirty construction related jobs to the local citizens of Bato, Camarines Sur and produced income to the local hardware and construction suppliers. At the end of the construction, over P10,000,000.00 pesos were injected and circulated in the local economy of Bato, Camarines Sur from MTBK construction project of MTBK Hotel, MTBK KTV Karaoke Bar, and DAZZ Café Resto Bar.
2019 MTBK CO:
In 2019, MTBK CO continued to help the people of Bato, Camarines Sur. In January of 2019, MTBK formed a partnership with Divina Pastora Barangay Council and “Sangguniang Kabataan” to move the MTBK Library to a new location. The library was moved to one of the empty building of Barangay Divina Pastora. MTBK funded the renovation of the building and the improvement of the library. As a result of the partnership, the library changed its name to MTBK Divina Pastora Library.
In February of 2019, SEC Philippines approved MTBK CO as a general partnership company engaged in Real Estate related businesses.
May 12, 2019: MTBK CO launched the soft opening of MTBK Hotel and MTBK KTV Karaoke Bar.
2020 MTBK CO:
February 7, 2020: MTBK CO launched the soft opening of MTBK Advertising, a print media business.
March 20, 2020: Due to COVID 19 Pandemic Lockdown, MTBK CO launched the MTBK Satellite Market at Barangay Divina Pastora to ensure the people of Divina Pastora have access to healthy food such as fresh meat, fish, vegetables and fruits.
May 20, 2020: MTBK CO launched the soft opening of Dazz Cafe Restobar.
ABOUT BATO, CAMARINES SUR, PHILIPPINES: Bato is a rural municipality in the province of Camarines Sur, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 52,137 people. Only about 58.27% of the household population is considered as literate. This town was formerly called as "Kaliligno" or "Caligno" named by the natives that settled along the river area. This small village later was elevated into a status of a town under the decree of Spanish Superior Government on February 15, 1753. Years back, a parish was already existing which was also made under the same decree. This parish adopted "The Most Holy Trinity" as its patron; its feast day is celebrated every Sunday after the Pentecost. The municipality of Bato is blessed with a lake teeming with various kinds of fishes. Sinarapan, the world's smallest fish, also occupies the waters of Lake Bato. Although at present, the lake now abounds with tilapia housed in a fish cage.
