MAKAMINGAW!
As our athletes begin their journey home, a feeling of separation anxiety slowly sets in. π
For several days, the apartment in front of our house became home to the Secondary Boys delegation of Western Visayas and some of their parents. Before leaving, they shared countless positive stories and feedback about the hosting of Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur.
One story that stood out happened on their first day. After arriving, they went to Jollibee and were waiting for transportation when a motorcycle driver, dressed simply in a sando, approached them. He politely said, βWala ko biyahe karon maam, pero kay kinahanglan man mo ug sakay, okay ra ba nga makasando ko? maghatod sa inyo? Basin unya mabastos mo nako.β He then gladly offered them a ride for free going to Patin-ay. The visitors were deeply touched by the driverβs humility, kindness, and genuine hospitality.
They also praised the warm accommodation of the boarding quarters and the friendliness of the people they met, who would often ask, βKumusta mo diri?β
According to them, the hosting was outstanding. The opening ceremony was one of a kind, and the sports complex is globally competitive. More than the facilities and events, what they will remember most is the warmth and hospitality of the Agsurnon people.
Safe travels to all our athletes, coaches, and delegates. Daghang salamat for making Palarong Pambansa 2026 a celebration of sportsmanship, friendship, and Filipino hospitality.β€οΈ
