Higatangan Island has officially transitioned to a stable and reliable electricity supply starting at 4:00 PM today, December 22, marking a historic milestone for the island community just in time for the holiday season.

The development was announced by Congressman Gerardo “Gerryboy” Espina Jr., who confirmed that the promise of consistent energy for the island has been fulfilled. The switch-on ensures that residents will enjoy the upcoming Christmas festivities with the "gift of light."

“This is a promise fulfilled for our community, ensuring brighter homes, safer streets, and a more comfortable holiday season for everyone,” Cong. Espina stated.

The arrival of 24/7 stable power is expected to transform the daily lives of Higatanganons by securing the energy supply before the Christmas peak to ensure reliable holiday celebrations , enhancing public safety with brighter streets , and improving the quality of life through the seamless use of home appliances and modern conveniences.

The atmosphere on the island is one of gratitude and celebration as the community moves away from intermittent power toward a more progressive and energized future.

“A Very Merry Christmas Everyone!” the Congressman added.
