Hello Folks,

Please be advised that a few of our neighbors are working to repair/rebuild their sea defenses, and we will be doing the same shortly. The storms last year did serious damage to the coastline and it must be protected before the new round of storms comes at the end of June This may create varying levels of visual and noise pollution, depending on the day. We very much appreciate your patience throughout May as these necessary repairs take place to ensure your safety and enjoyable experiences moving forward.

Sandy Toes Beach Camp is a rustic, family-run resort that offers a uniquely, upgraded beach camping experience on the beautiful shores of Zambales. Let us serve as your base camp for Botolan outdoor adventures or your oasis to watch the waves roll in as the sun melts away.

Beach Camping Made Fun

Welcome to Sandy Toes Beach Camp. We have chosen this name because it represents the down to Earth and rustic experience that we offer in a comfortable camping setting along the gorgeous shores of Botolan. We are a family run, sustainable resort that is now offering our soft opening for you to escape from your often busy, and sometimes stressful lives. We currently have four glamping huts with fans that will accommodate two people each; however, within the next few months we will be able to offer a few nipa huts with aircon that can accommodate 3-4 pax. Sandy Toes is an excellent base camp to explore the natural wonders of the area around Botolan. We have over 10km of beach between the Bancal and Bucao Rivers. You can walk or trike down to the Bancal River for a nice kayak to the mangrove sanctuary or walk past the fishing villages to the Bucao River and explore the lahars of the Pinatubo eruption. If hiking is more your speed, you can arrange a guided hike to the teacup setting at Tukal Falls. If you want more adventure, you can hire ATVs to ride up the lahar and hike to the crater of Mt. Pinatubo. For the most adventurous, you can hire a guide to take you to the summit of Mount Tapuloa, Zambales’ tallest peak at over 2000 meters. However, you don’t need to be an adventure seeker to visit us. A nice book in the hammock in our beach front chill huts is an excellent way to pass the time. Also, the sunsets here are the best time of the day. Relaxing or swimming around 6pm will offer you a show of colors that rivals anywhere in the world. Even during Habagat, Mother Nature provides more than enough gifts to encourage a visit. After the sun sets, we often have a brief, but intense rain storm visit us, followed by hours of lightning over to the coast and the mountains presenting a spectacular show. Don’t worry about getting wet. Our glamping huts offer weather proofing that allows you to experience these wonderful storms from the comfort of your bed with an unobstructed view and WIFI good enough to post those videos on our FB page.

To facilitate your upgraded camping experience, we have just completed our open air, self-serve kitchen. Included in your fees, each glamping hut will be assigned a cooking station that offers everything you need. You will have a single-burner stove, cooking utensils, pot and pan, rice cooking station, refrigerator and dish cleaning station. On the way back from your walk, stop in the fishing village to grab the catch of the day and grill it up on our grillers as you watch the sunset. When it comes time to wash off those sandy toes from your day of fun, we have an open-air restroom with outdoor showers to watch the stars and contemplate the universe as you prepare for a restful night’s sleep.

At Sandy Toes, we strive to be as sustainable as possible. We have used only labor from the local community to create your natural experience. We have almost exclusively purchased all materials from the local economy, hoping to keeping our money circulating as close to Sandy Toes as possible. We partner with local guides and outfitters to enhance your adventurous experience, striving to use natural materials whenever possible. Due to the sustainability of bamboo, kawayan, you will see it planted and used throughout our place. We have even planted 10 trees for every tree used in construction as a means to replenish what we have used. Additionally, our cement is sourced from the Pinatubo lahar, decreasing the transport distance to minimize our carbon footprint. If you strive to minimize your ecological footprint, as we do, you can take a Victory Liner bus from nearly anywhere to Botolan. It will drop you off at the Palengke, so you can stock up for your camping trip before hiring a local trike to our shores.

Whether your pleasure is adventure, relaxation or any combination of both, we invite you to visit us as your rustic home away from home and offer us any constructive feedback you can think of to make your next visit even better. We are still a work in progress, as most of us are, but that is no reason you cannot enjoy our progression with us. Please contact Perchie or Mama through our FB page to reserve some rest and relaxation with us, we look forward to seeing you.
