Some places don’t need hype — they’ve already earned their name through decades of serving good food.

Today we tried Nanay’s Best — one of CDO’s OG sugbahan spots known for their flavorful chicken inasal and their classic sinugbang bangus. Simple, local, smoky, and comforting in the best way.

If you’re traveling to Cagayan de Oro and want to skip the overly touristy spots to try where locals actually eat, this might be worth adding to your food list. Sometimes the best meals are the ones that have quietly stood the test of time.
