Biri Island is one of the most beautiful Islands of the Philippines and is situated off the coast of Northern Samar. Samar is on the eastern edge of the Phillippine Islands Group and is open to the Pacific Ocean, hence the amazingly clear blue seas. It is situated in Northern Samar where the Pacific Ocean meets the land. Its beaches are pristine, rock formations enormous, and sights absolutely beautiful. The village/town is peaceful, very laid-back and brims with a calm, friendly atmosphere that the locals here effortlessly and charmingly create. Biri has a small population is largly a fishing community, religion being predominantly catholic. It is safe to wander through the village and refreshingly you will not be harassed by vendors. There are a few Bars in the town generally catering to locals but Biri is not about Bar life. There are no cars on the island so great for walking and motor bikes. The apartments are both located on the first floor and have balconies to take advantage of the ocean breezes. King size or Twin beds are available. The apartments are built to western standards with a small self contained kitchen, ensuite, air con, cable TV & WiFi. Daily housekeeping is included in the tariff. Meals are available on request and consist of simple local fare. Fresh meats and produce is generally purchased friom Catarman. You can choose your own cuisine and cook in your room or ask your hosts to purchase and cook for you. Access to Biri Island is via a Philippines Airline one hour flight from Manilla to the town of Catarman. Then take a private taxi to the small village of Lavazarus (approx 45 mins)
