A productive and meaningful Mid-Year CHARA Members’ Visit was conducted from August 3–5, 2026, as the CHARA Officers and Chairpersons visited our member establishments to discuss important association matters, hear their concerns, and strengthen our commitment to service, safety, and excellence.

CHARA President Ms. Almira Calbes, Corporate Secretary Mr. Ian Chuca, Special Events and Concerns Chairperson Ms. Kim Montiman, and Safety, Health and Community Service Chairperson Dr. Vincent Rosales discussed the Compliance Checklist for the CHARA Accreditation Badge & Certificate, which aim to recognize member establishments that uphold responsible operations, quality service, safety, sanitation and continues improvement.

We also discussed safety and security measures, including the Block Listed Person Policy, as well as the importance of maintaining professionalism. CHARA will also help feature and promote reviews of our member establishments from various online platforms, highlighting positive guest experiences and service excellence while encouraging members to continuously uphold and improve their standards.

Preparations for the Calbayog City Fiesta and Charter Day, Calbayog City Marathon 2026, and EVRAA 2027 were also discussed. We are grateful to our members who extended accommodation discounts to participants and runners coming from outside Calbayog City.

The CHARA Flagship Project—Calbayog Tour and Island Journeys was also presented, providing our member hotels and resorts with curated experiences that guests can enjoy while discovering the beauty of Calbayog. We also look forward to working with our CHARA Ambassador, the Miss Hadang 2026 winner, in promoting our city and its hospitality industry.

We likewise discussed DOT Accreditation, seminars, trainings, and workshops, with the continued support of the LGU Calbayog and Calbayog City Tourism Office.

These visits are part of CHARA’s continuing effort to listen, support, and work closely with every member.

Your CHARA Officers and Chairpersons are working with you- not above you. Together, we continue to build a stronger hospitality industry and a better experience for every guest who visits Calbayog.

CHARA is working to bring faster and more reliable connection to its member establishments through a potential partnership with Eastern Communications. Customized internet services exclusive offer to member hotels, resorts and restaurants for that seamless guest experience.

Today, 31st of July 2026, a virtual meeting was held with CMO Executive Assistant Mr. Francis Mark Mawo, Eastern Communications Cluster Head Cebu Regional Group Mr. Deogracias Nazareno, City Tourism Officer Mr. Ronald Ricafort, CHARA Officers, Ms. Almira Calbes- President, Mr. Kirk Ventures- Vice President, Mr. Ian Chuca- Corporate Secretary together with CHARA members and ICT Council representatives.

During the meeting, Mr. Nazareno presented Eastern Communications' fiber internet coverage, products, and services, including its expansion plans in Calbayog City. He also emphasized the company's commitment to providing direct customer support through dedicated personnel, ensuring members can communicate with a real representative instead of relying solely on automated replies or AI-assisted support.
