DID YOU KNOW? | FRIDAY HERITAGE SERIES
Did you know the story behind Grandpa’s Hotel?
Long before it became a beloved home for travelers, these walls were already part of Vigan’s story.
The heritage house is connected to the Donato family, with a significant chapter dating back to 1923, when the house became part of the story of Mariano Donato and Carmen Rivero.
In 1970, the property became part of the Pasimio family’s history. It later served as St. Therese Dorm before being transformed into Grandpa’s Inn in 1979.
But perhaps what makes this house truly special isn't simply its age.
It is the stories it has quietly witnessed.
These four walls have stood through generations.
They have witnessed families gather, travelers arrive, celebrations unfold, and Vigan changed through the years.
They have seen the old Vigan—and continue to welcome the new.
From an ancestral home, to a dormitory, to an inn, and now a cherished heritage destination, Grandpa’s has grown with the city while keeping its old-world soul alive.
Because when you step inside Grandpa’s, you are not simply entering a hotel.
You are stepping into a piece of Vigan’s history. ❤️
