It’s officially been one year since we opened A Casa Portuguesa Coron Boutique Hostel! 🥳

Building this place from scratch has felt a lot like an island adventure — sometimes smooth sailing, sometimes rough seas, a few unexpected detours, and plenty of moments where we wondered, “What the hell are we doing?” 😂But here we are — one year later! ❤️

This place was once just a dream, conceived some 15 years ago while backpacking. Fast forward to today, and we’re welcoming backpackers and adventurers from all over the world to our little corner of Coron, Philippines. 🌏🏝️

Over the past year, we’ve seen travelers from different continents arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

People who met here have shared island adventures, swapped travel stories, discovered new places, laughed over random conversations, stayed up way too late, made questionable decisions 😂, and created memories that hopefully last long after they’ve left Coron.

Because that’s what we wanted this place to be — not just a place to sleep, but a place where travelers meet travelers. 🎒🍻🌴
So, to everyone who stayed with us, hung out with us, shared a story, had a drink, joined an adventure, or simply passed through our doors:

We regret to inform everyone that Justin Bieber has secretly checked into our hostel… 🇸🇪

…okay fine, not THE Justin Bieber — but honestly, this Swedish version might just give him a run for his money 😏

Our guest walked in and suddenly:
✨ Reception forgot how to speak
✨ Other guests started “casually” hanging around the lobby
✨ Someone asked for a selfie… “for a friend”

At this rate, we might need security, a velvet rope, and maybe a small concert in the common area 🎤
