A peaceful evening from Mt. Tapyas. 🌙
You may notice that smoke tends to stay low over Coron during this time of year. This is because of a natural weather pattern called a temperature inversion — when cool air stays near the ground and warmer air above it traps the smoke from rising.
With lighter winds and our valley shape, the air becomes very still, and the smoke spreads across town instead of going up.
Coron is calm and beautiful during these cooler months, with sunsets like this painting the whole sky. 💛

Calm skies have returned to Coron. 🌤️

After Typhoon Tino passed through, we’re thankful to share that Coron and Corto del Mar are safe and fully operational.

While some parts of the Philippines experienced heavier effects, our island was largely spared. The sun is shining again, tours are running, and the calm seas are waiting to welcome you back. ⛵
