About Bluepot Family Resort

Nestled in an idyllic rural community, on a spot where few have known of its historic past, is a homely family resort that evokes a statement of its own. Blue Pot started in 2007 as a family rest house. The project that started as a modest haven for family and friends, have evolved into a destination that became a landmark with its own reputable character and has put a

tranquil and quiet barrio on the map. Situated in Cawayan, the third largest barangay in Dalaguete, Cebu, Blue Pot is a perfect sanctuary for tourists and families who travel to the sea and feel the popular destinations in the southern part of the island. It is just a short leisurely drive from major eco-tourism spots in the south:

The Whale shark watching in Oslob
The heritage sites, Spanish era churches, and museums in, Dalaguete, Boljoon, Oslob and Argao
Mantalongon - "Little Bagiuo, Summer Capital and Vegetable Basket of Cebu"
White sand beaches and dive sites
Osmena Peak camping sites and hiking trails
Obong Spring

Positioning itself as a family resort, Blue Pot offers venues for weddings and parties, conferences and meetings, dining and accommodation. It has gained popularity among urbanities, tourists and families seeking for a place where comfort and safety are of utmost concern. As you leapfrog from town to town in Southern Cebu in search of local accommodations, Blue Pot proves again and again that serendipity is the traveler's strongest ally: We cater to many of your most memorable travels, outings, and celebrations. Tracing our resort name and heritage

The origin of how Blue Pot got its unique title can be traced back to ancient history before the Spanish colonization. It can be gleaned from historial records that in the 15th - 16th centuries our forefathers had already made commerce with foreign traders: Chinese, Vietnamese, Indians and even Arabs. In the 1970's, the piece of land where Blue Pot is located has made headlines when a vast assortment of ancient porcelain and ceramic wares were found buried in the area. Hundred of jars, pots, plates, vases, bracelets, and other artefacts made of ceramic were unearthed. Most of the jars, pots and celadon porcelain were of Chinese and Vietnamese origin evident of their blue glaze which can be traced back to a certain era when the "underglaze" blue technique was being applied by artisans in China. Inlaid with blue ancient Chinese designs and art, these ceramic pots are priceless and have portrayed a significant evidence that the land where Blue Pot is located was indeed a thriving, bountiful, civilized village centuries before the arrival of the Spanish "Conquestadores".
