Some people come to the beach to do more.
Others come to remember what it's like to do less.

Here's us giving you a cozy spot by the shore, made for lingering a little longer.

Read your favorite book. Take a nap. Enjoy a simple picnic. Play your favorite playlist. Or simply sit and watch the waves.

When was the last time you simply sat with someone...

Listening to the gentle waves.
Enjoying the quiet.
And feeling like there was nowhere else you needed to be.

Kung ganito 'yung pahinga na hinahanap mo..you just might love it here.

This was from a last-minute Airbnb booking yesterday.

We're always happy when a guest gets to experience the kind of stay we hope every Balibali guest will have...relaxed, comfortable, and worth remembering.

Messages like this do more than give us something to post. They reassure us that we're doing something right, and they inspire us to keep doing it with the same care for every guest who stays with us.

Maraming salamat Ms. Maricris for choosing balibali and for appreciating our effort. 🥹

We lost four nights this week. (May tanong kami sa dulo). Hahaha.

Anyway... Four nights na pwede sanang income.

As a business, that's a loss.

But strangely... it also feels like a gain.

Kasi every time we had to make a difficult decision this week, we were reminded why we started this place in the first place.

▪︎▪︎▪︎

Valid concern 'yan.

And if you're one of those people who love planning trips months ahead but hesitate because of the weather, gusto lang naming bigyan kayo ng konting peace of mind.

If may storm signal warning on the day of your stay, we do allow guests to move or rebook their staycation.

We still don't encourage last-minute cancellations, of course.

You can even message us 2–3 days before your stay if gusto ninyong makahingi ng updated videos of the beach. We'd rather you make an informed decision than arrive with expectations that don't match reality.

▪︎▪︎▪︎

This week alone...

May dalawang gabing na-rebook because they were worried about the incoming typhoon.

May guests naman na gusto sanang mag-extend.

Pero hindi na namin pinayagan ang videoke for another night dahil may ibang guests sa katabing hut na nagpapahinga.

Yes, we could've earned more.

But we've always believed that when someone books a beachfront stay, kasama sa binabayaran nila ang katahimikan.

And sometimes, protecting that quiet experience means saying no to extra income.

In the end, hindi rin natuloy ang extension nila.

Another opportunity lost.

Then today...

May guests na dapat two nights.

They decided to cut their trip short.

We refunded the unused night.

Not because we had to. But because we genuinely felt bad.

Mas nalungkot pa kami na hindi nila naranasan ang beach the way we hoped they would.

▪︎▪︎▪︎

Opportunity losses are still losses. Most of the time, they're actual losses.

But for us...they're also investments.

Investments in trust. Investments in relationships.

Investments in doing business the way we'd want to be treated if kami naman ang guests.

Because at the end of the day, we don't just want fully booked calendars. We don't just want profit.

We want people to leave feeling they were treated fairly and they got the value of their money.

▪︎▪︎▪︎

Habang sinusulat ko ito (patapos na sana eh), may naalala akong nangyari last year.

May guests na nasa biyahe na. Bigla silang nag-message.

Naaksidente raw sila somewhere in Pangasinan. A tricycle hit their car.

Same-day cancellation iyon.

Our policy says non-refundable. To be honest, pumasok din sa isip namin:

"Paano kung hindi totoo?"

"Paano kung nakahanap lang sila ng mas mura?"

"Paano kung nagbago lang isip nila?"

Normal naman sigurong maisip 'yun. And most people's first reaction is to ask for proof.

Pero may isa pang tanong na mas nanaig: "What if it's true?"

Imagine, naaksidente ka na. Aligaga ka, and possibly still in shock. Then inaalala mo pa ang pamilya mo if wala bang nasaktan sa kanila.

Tapos ang unang hihingin sa'yo: Proof?

Hindi namin kayang gawin 'yun. So we refunded them. No questions asked. No proof requested.

We simply wished them well and hoped na they're okay and na makabalik sila in the future.

And then something happened that we'll never forget.

Tumuloy pa rin sila.

Nag-walk-in sila later that day because they still needed somewhere to stay habang inaasikaso nila ang police report kinabukasan.

Mukha pang brand new. Nakakalungkot makita.

▪︎▪︎▪︎

Over the years...

May mga guests na namatayan. May nagkasakit.

Most of them simply asked to rebook.

Opportunity costs are real. Hindi rin fair sa negosyo.

And somehow...

Don't get us wrong.

Bawat negosyo may kanya-kanyang policies. And if a business is strict with their policies, hindi 'yun kapintasan. Policies are ways to protect ourselves din para hindi ma-take advantage and to avoid losses na pwede naman maiwasan ahead.

And we respect that. Ganun din kasi kami. We weigh in din sa mga bagay2 before making a decision.

We simply want you to know how we choose to do things here.

With fairness. With flexibility when the situation truly calls for it.

And hopefully...with integrity kasi we always try to do the right thing when we can.

So if you've been wanting to plan a beach trip this rainy season but you've been holding back because of the weather...

Don't let the "what ifs" stop you completely.

Plan ahead. Keep an eye on the forecast. Message us if you need updated beach videos before your trip.

And if the weather truly has other plans, we'll always try to find the fairest solution...for you, for us, and for everyone else.

We'd love to hear it. For the fun of it lang. If shy kayo, msg nyo na lang so we can blur your names. May pumatol kaya? Hahaha.

Taken today. No edits. No filters. Just our beach as it is.

Some days the shoreline is smooth and clear. Other days, the sea leaves behind seaweed after a night of strong winds and waves. Every visit is a little different. That's part of being by the ocean.

If you're looking for a beachfront stay that embraces nature as it comes, we'd love to welcome you. Slow mornings, the sound of the waves, fresh sea breeze, beautiful sunrise, and the simple joy of spending time by the sea are experiences that don't depend on a picture-perfect shoreline.

See you by the beach, here at balibali. 💙❤️😉

Doing nothing feels weird?

For people who are used to being responsible, productive, and always needed, sitting still can feel almost uncomfortable.

You're so used to answering messages, finishing tasks, planning ahead, and making sure everything gets done…that a quiet moment can feel like you're wasting time.

Na parang ang tamad mo for sitting down.

But you're not wasting time.
And you are definitely not lazy.

Life is not only about what you accomplish, what you provide, or what you finish.

It's also about giving yourself the chance to enjoy what you've worked so hard for.
It's about creating memories with the people who make life worth living.
It's about allowing yourself to experience the little moments you're always working for.

Maybe sitting by the beach, listening to the waves, and simply breathing is something you can choose for yourself.

Maybe your morning coffee doesn't need to be paired with emails or chats.
Maybe your breakfast doesn't need to be rushed between responsibilities.
Maybe you can enjoy a deep conversation with your partner, your parent, your kid, or a beautiful sunrise, or a quiet view without needing to accomplish anything else.

𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺.

So come slow down. Let your shoulders relax. Drink your coffee in peace. Eat your meal while it's still warm. Watch the ocean without needing to capture every moment.

Because the moments you remember most are not always the ones where you did the most.

Sometimes, they are the moments when you finally allowed yourself to be present.

🌊 Your beachfront escape is waiting. Take that vacation. Make those memories. Spend time with the people who remind you why you keep going.

It rained hard this morning, but it made everything feel even more peaceful. The beach was quiet, the trees looked fresh, the bamboo huts felt extra cozy, and coffee just tasted better.

Maybe it's just me, but I can almost feel the clean, fresh air just by looking at these photos.

Kayo na lang talaga ang kulang. 😉
