A Family Story
In May 2017, siblings Odet, Deo, Dennis and Dinah decided to do something with their Mamang’s ‘wasted’ land and turn it into a place that their family can visit for vacation.
After family meetings and discussions, back and forth trips to Tambobong, meetings and calls with suppliers, they decided to open a simple resort a few seconds away from the beach. The resort will have 4 or 5 huts, an area for people to grill their favorite tilapia and bangus, and a mess hall to drink their Empi and San Mig Lights in the evening. After all this is what their family does whenever they visit Tambobong. Visiting families and group of friends may want the same.
In November of the same year, Dandy’s Place was born. It was named after the family matriarch, Dandy, as she is often called by her parents, sisters, and neighbors. The huts are named after the youngest members of the family, Dandy’s grandchildren: Deon, Bleu, Dea, Lucy and Liam. They built a mess hall with a grill, ‘papag’ made of bamboo, with a full kitchen. Being a few steps away from the sea has its advantages - guests wake up, get breakfast and walk over to swim at the sea just after a few minutes of finishing their first cup of coffee.
Today, Dandy’s Place has served families, barkadas, solo travellers, newly engaged and married couples, foreigners and locals, and hosted company outings.
