Toril Community Cooperative ๐€ ๐œ๐จ๐จ๐ฉ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ! Toril Community Cooperative (TCC), formerly known as Toril Credit Union was established on February 17, 1969. Constantino R.

It was first situated inside the Rectory of Sto. Rosario Parish Church, which also served as its first office. Its humble beginnings can be traced to its 45 pioneer members with its initial capital of PHP 1,500.00. The first set of elected officers were Mr. Fernando Pantig – President, Mr. Pedro Concepcion – Vice President, Mr. Rabara – Secretary, Mr. Jose Ferriols –Manager

/Treasurer and Mr. Noel Albay – Director. They Started to establish a good name for the cooperative, and during their term and dynamic leadership, the cooperative continued to grow and develop. They were also ably assisted by the Credit Committee the chaired by Mr. Eligio Lamsen and Supervisory Committee headed by Mr. Ignacio Lomongo. Seeing the necessity of acquiring a permanent site, Toril Credit Union acquired a residential type of property at Bayanihan Street in Toril and this was converted into an office of the Cooperative. After 27 years of growth and development, and after having registered TCC as its official name, it is now holding office in its new 5 storey building located at Saavedra Street in Toril poblacion, the first building in the entire district with an elevator. With its expected increase of members year after year, TCC expanded its services by opening new branches. The first branch was launched in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur in June 28, 2005 and the following year, another branch was launched in Calinan, Davao City. On the other hand, TCC has also ventured in funeral services with the opening of TCC Funeral Home and last 2007, TCC Condo hostel was erected in Bayanihan Street, Toril. At present, TCC is contemplating on opening two more branches : in Digos and in Mintal. The cooperative continued to march toward achieving global excellence in service.

Toril Community Cooperative proudly welcomed Lake Sebu Countryside Development Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LSCD-MPC) from the beautiful municipality of Lake Sebu for a meaningful and productive Benchmarking Activity held last May 21, 2026, at the 4th Floor Board Room, TCC Head Office Building, Saavedra St., Toril, Davao City. ๐Ÿค

The activity served as an avenue for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of valuable insights in cooperative management and operations. The discussion was led by our Chairperson, Atty. Jose Dionisio N. Guevarra Jr., together with the dedicated members of the Board of Directors and TCC Head Office Managers. Topics discussed included best practices, operational strategies, head office functions, innovative approaches, and initiatives that promote cooperative excellence and sustainable growth.

Through this meaningful engagement, both cooperatives were able to share experiences, strengthen professional relationships, and inspire one another in delivering better services to their respective members and communities.

This collaborative visit truly reflects the spirit of cooperation among cooperatives โ€” building stronger partnerships, encouraging knowledge-sharing, and fostering continuous growth and development in pursuit of inclusive and community-centered service. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

The Toril Community Cooperative humbly extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors and Head Office Management of Sta. Catalina Credit Cooperative for generously sharing their experience and knowledge in facilitating an Annual Representative Assembly held yesterday, May 13, 2026, at their Head Office in Poblacion, Pres. Roxas, Cotabato, near Kidapawan City.

The valuable insights and best practices shared will greatly help TCC become more knowledgeable and prepared in the transition from a General Assembly to an Annual Representative Assembly (ARA). Through this benchmarking activity, TCC aims to gain a deeper understanding of the proper conduct of an ARA, learn best practices, procedures, and effective management techniques, observe actual systems and strategies used by an experienced cooperative, and strengthen cooperative governance, member representation, and organizational efficiency.

Present during the benchmarking activity were the TCC Board of Directors, Election Committee, and Head Office Management.
