: We are doing this to preserve Mendez Legacy and to honor Mendez Life, Works, Achievement, Leadership, Philanthropic deeds and patriotic ideals and aspirations that pushes in establishing Sitio Union Sanidad in 1900, Barangay Tubod in 1908 and Municipality of TUBOD in September 18, 1957.

Mendez, dili jud taka kalimtan sa emuhang mga maayong buhat para sa emuha komunidad hangtud sa kahangturan.!!!

: Someone there to ask... WHY IS IT THERE'S MENDEZ MONUMENT?

: It is duty bound to provide so called in honor of Tubod Founding Hero AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ in the community of Tubod. Since the beginning, before it was opened to a small village. Mendez discover and industriously cultivates the virgin forest and he own huge land in it with no name yet. The place was named by Mendez as "TUBOD" due to sources of water. Remember, water is life. The years passed, Mendez be their First Christian Settler and First Leader in Sitio Union Sanidad on April 1, 1900, the First Tenente Del Barrio as "CABEZA de BARANGAY" as Founding Leader on Pre-occupation of Spain as Barangay Tubod in 1908 and Founder of TUBOD on September 18, 1957 as Tubod separates from the Mother Town of Mainit as per Executive Order No. 269 issued by the late Philippine President Carlos Polistico Garcia.

Thus, Mendez is the great sacrifice that his One-Hectare Land donated to LGU of TUBOD that, risen Tubod Municipal Hall Building, Police Office, Municipal Gymnasium, Rural Health Unit Tubod, Municipal Jail and Municipal Luneta and Playground and all establishments erected under donor's Mendez properties. Because of Mendez generosity he donated another One-Hectare Land to Tubod Roman Catholic Church that, risen the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Church, Convent and other facilities of the parish. He donated made of IVORY Sts. Peter and Paul Original Partnered Patron Saints Images actually processioned during Town's Feast. Until then, it was unfortunately stolen inside the church said Patron Saint Images in 1990. Aside from those things, he donated made of Gold Antique "KAMPANARYO" Church Bells and was stolen also inside the church last 1990. We remembered that when the bells rang reaches nearby Sitios and Barrios of Del Rosario, Cawilan, San Pablo and Marga.

Needless to state, Mendez ample donations of Residential Lots to people who captivates to live in Tubod where deal in " " of HUNSOY, NEGO, KURMATA, CARABAO and other belongings in exchange of residential occupancies from Mendez lands.

The legacy of Mendez will never be forgotten till the end of time. It was then Municipal Mayor ALFREDO ESPINA MACULA and motion by Sangguniang Bayan Member Fiscalizer SERGIO ACERO LABADAN to declare and proclaim through TUBOD MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION Series of 1989 that, AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ be declared TUBOD LOCAL HERO at the same time FOUNDER OF TUBOD for his heroic deeds extremely shown towards his people and the community as well.

Thus, the LGU of TUBOD in 1989 get some of money from Tubod Municipal Funds copper for the construction of TUBOD FOUNDING HERO AGUSTIN GANOT MENDEZ MONUMENT. It was then 37 Years Old Mendez Monument today (1989 - 2026).

What an stunning applause for previous administration who recognized Mendez as one of its Prominent Figure in the History of the Municipality of TUBOD.

The history of Mendez heroism marks essential instrumentalities for the existence of this miniature town.

The time will passed away, leaders from time to time passed away but Mendez Legacy reigns forever in the hearts of Tuboranons in general spectrum.
