On its 22nd year of continuing service focusing on ecotourism and agritourism, Malagos Garden Resort is celebrating their very first Halloween Celebration in line with the company’s advocacy to “Support Local” entitled “Mga Handuraw sa Baul: Philippine Music, Arts and Horror on All Hallow’s Eve”.
The whole-day celebration will include a number of fun-filled contests and thrilling escapades. Locally renowned artists and performers have also been invited to take part in this festivity. In the form of film, poetry, visual arts and music, guests will be entertained and educated on the Philippine Halloween Culture.

The venue for the EXPLORERS OF THE FANTASTIC is Assumption College of Davao (ACD).

ACD is at Cabaguio Ave., right by the only overpass in that stretch of road. The overpass is your landmark. ACD is accessible through jeepney routes 4 and 10. Route 10 passes through Claveria, goes through Uyanguren, Agdao, and then Cabaguio. Route 4 passes through the entire JP Laurel stretch, and turns right to Cabaguio upon reaching SPMC. If you're coming you're riding a jeep at Claveria, we highly suggest taking route 10.

NEWS RELEASE: Pulong to Hold Spec Fic and Comics Seminar at Assumption College

Davao City – Pulong will hold a seminar entitled “Explorers of the Fantastic: A Seminar on Speculative Fiction and Graphic Illustration" on September 26, 2015, Saturday, from 1 PM to 4 PM, at the High School Audio-Visual Room of Assumption College of Davao.

The seminar will be attended by students from Assumption College of Davao, Ateneo de Davao University, Holy Cross of Davao College, Philippine Women's College of Davao, University of Mindanao, University of the Philippines Mindanao, and University of Southeastern Philippines.

Dominique Cimafranca, a Davao Writers Guild member and the mainstay writer of speculative fiction in Davao, will talk about speculative fiction. John Amor, a Davao-based comic illustrator and concept artist, will present a lecture on comics as literary medium.

Founded in 2012, Pulong is the umbrella organization representing English and literature student groups of universities and colleges in Davao City

PULONG, the umbrella organization of collegiate literary organizations in Davao, presents the EXPLORERS OF THE FANTASTIC: A Seminar on Speculative Fiction and Graphic Illustration with Dom Cimafranca and John Amor on September 26, 2015, Saturday, 1-4PM, at the HS AVR of Assumption College of Davao. This seminar is open to all. Only 100 seats are available. PHP70 per ticket!

The Davao Writers Guild, in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the University of the Philippines Mindanao, is now accepting applications to the 2015 Davao Writers Workshop to be held October 27 to October 31, 2015. Fifteen fellowships are available, of which four will be given to writers from outside Davao but residing in Mindanao.
