The maiden flight took off on October 26, 2025, complete with a cake-cutting ceremony 🍰 and the traditional water cannon salute 💦 at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) — because let’s be honest, what’s a flight to paradise without a little splash?

This new route gives travelers a direct ticket to El Nido’s magic — those limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and white-sand beaches that made the island a global favorite. 🌊

Golden hour in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines

Ang Lawak ng Palawan at ang Layo ng Coron, El Nido at Puerto Princesa

Marami ang nagkakamali sa pag-aakalang magkalapit lamang o nasa iisang isla ang Coron, El Nido, at Puerto Princesa. Sa katunayan, ang tatlong paboritong destinasyon na ito ay magkakalayo at matatagpuan sa magkakaibang bahagi ng napakalawak na lalawigan ng Palawan. Ang Palawan ay binubuo ng mahigit pitong daang isla at mga islet na may habang higit 400 kilometro mula hilaga hanggang timog—kaya hindi nakapagtataka kung bakit madalas nalilito ang mga turista sa distansya ng bawat bayan.

Ang Coron ay nasa pinakahilagang bahagi ng Palawan, sa isang hiwalay na grupo ng mga isla na tinatawag na Calamianes Group of Islands. Dito matatagpuan ang mga tanyag na tanawin gaya ng Kayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, at mga lumubog na barko noong World War II na dinarayo ng mga divers mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo.

Samantala, ang El Nido ay nasa hilagang dulo ng pangunahing isla ng Palawan, ilang oras na biyahe mula sa Puerto Princesa. Kilala ito sa mga mala-paraisong tanawin ng Bacuit Archipelago, na binubuo ng mga lagoon, limestone cliffs, at mala-gatas na buhangin ng Nacpan Beach.

Ang Puerto Princesa, naman, ay nasa gitna ng Palawan at nagsisilbing kabisera ng lalawigan. Dito matatagpuan ang sikat na Underground River na kinilala ng UNESCO bilang World Heritage Site.

Kung susumahin, aabutin ng halos 10 oras ang biyahe mula Puerto Princesa papuntang Coron, gamit ang kombinasyon ng van at fast craft. Samantalang ang biyahe naman mula El Nido papuntang Puerto Princesa ay umaabot ng 5 hanggang 6 na oras sa pamamagitan ng van, at mula El Nido papuntang Coron ay 4 na oras sa pamamagitan ng fast craft.

Makikita rito na ang Palawan ay hindi isang maliit na isla lamang, kundi isang malawak at mahabang lalawigan na binubuo ng magkakahiwalay na isla at karagatan. Ang layo ng Coron, El Nido, at Puerto Princesa ay patunay ng lawak at ganda ng Palawan—isang probinsyang may kakaibang likas na yaman sa bawat sulok, ngunit nangangailangan ng maingat na pagpaplano sa paglalakbay upang masulit ang bawat karanasan.

DELIGHTFUL NEWS: DIRECT FLIGHT MULA CEBU TUNGONG EL NIDO, MAGBIBIGAY NG MAS MARAMING OPORTUNIDAD SA PALAWAN

Opisyal nang inilunsad ang direktang flight mula Cebu patungong El Nido simula Oktubre 26, 2025, sa pamamagitan ng “Cebgo” ng Cebu PAcific na nag-aalok ng araw-araw na flight para sa mga pasahero.

Ang pagbubukas ng rutang ito ay inaasahang magdudulot ng malaking pag-unlad sa turismo ng El Nido at Palawan, dahil mas pinadali nito ang pagdating ng mga bisita mula Cebu at iba pang bahagi ng bansa.

Sa paglulunsad ng inaugural flight, binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng bagong ruta sa pagsuporta sa lokal na turismo, komunidad, at maliliit na negosyo.

Inaasahan na sa pagdami ng mga turista, tataas din ang demand para sa iba't ibang serbisyo at produkto, na magreresulta sa paglikha ng mas maraming trabaho at oportunidad sa kabuhayan sa El Nido at mga kalapit na lugar sa Palawan tulad ng Puerto Princesa, Coron, at Port Barton.

Sa mas madaling akses ng transportasyon, inaasahang lalago ang industriya ng turismo sa Palawan, na magbibigay ng positibong epekto hindi lamang sa ekonomiya kundi pati na rin sa kalidad ng buhay ng mga lokal na residente.
