We’ve been slowly bringing more flowering plants back into our place. Now that the heat has returned, the trees are conserving water and shedding leaves, giving the kubos more sunlight again. It feels like the perfect moment to grow flowers once more. Hoping to see them in full bloom soon 🥰🌸🌻🌼

How typhoon Tino left our place the morning after. We fell asleep praying, and woke up to many of our cherished trees fallen down, some kubo damaged, the view deck completely on the ground.

When the sun came back, so did the little birds looking for the mansanitas trees that were no longer there.

We tell ourselves that we are grateful to still be here, and that things could’ve been worse. But we also reflect on the near future… the stronger typhoons science tells us about. Our hearts grieve for all the creatures that were lost, and those about to be. But for what little remains, we stay faithful to caring.
