A little business reminder.
Don’t be too emotional when it comes to business.
There will be times when plans change, setups need to be rearranged, or decisions have to be made on-site. As long as these changes are properly coordinated with and permitted by the organizing body, we should respect that each business has its own responsibilities and decisions to handle.
We may not always agree with how others do business, but disagreement does not give us a reason to be disrespectful.
If you have concerns, ask first.
If you disagree, communicate respectfully.
If emotions run high, take a step back before choosing your words.
Most importantly,
before putting negative labels on another business,
make sure your own hands are clean.
Your words matter.
Your actions matter.
Your attitude matters.
And your response represents your business.
P.S.
Professionalism is not only about how we handle things when everything goes our way.
It is also shown in how we behave when plans change, when we disagree, when we are disappointed, and when things do not happen according to our expectations.
We can stand up for our business
without putting another business down.
We can express our concerns
without creating unnecessary conflict.
We can disagree without disrespecting.
We will always choose to respond professionally,
but professionalism should never be mistaken
for tolerating disrespect.
At the end of the day,
we’re all running businesses here, so:
Choose kindness.
Choose accountability.
Choose professionalism.
Choose respect.
