We are saying Goodbye to the guesthouse we built when we came here in 2008. We used as much native materials (bamboo floor, etc.) to make it really homey but, after 15 years of disuse, termites completely overrun it. So today we are tearing it down totally. We will rebuild it completely but we will have to settle with metal, plastic, concrete and other synthetic materials.

This side of the farm has several bamboo clumps and bamboo clumps are difficult to maintain. So, we cut three clumps, sold the bamboo poles and had money for the clean up. We will have to wait for the debris to dry and then we will burn the bamboo stumps.
