TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF TANGKE SALTWATER LAGOON IN CARLES FROM SEPT. 1 - 30

The Municipality of Carles advises the public that, pursuant to Executive Order No. 52, Series of 2026, the Tangke Saltwater Lagoon in Brgy. Gabi, Gigantes Sur, Carles, Iloilo will be temporarily closed from September 1 to September 30, 2026, unless further extended.

All tourism activities are suspended during the closure. No tourists, boats, tour operators, travel agencies, or tour guides are allowed to enter, dock, swim, sightsee, accommodate tourists, or conduct any tourism-related activity within or around the lagoon.

One purpose of the temporary closure is to allow the lagoon’s marine and coastal ecosystems to recover from tourism pressures.
