We recently tried the Pizzeria Playa Maribago Branch near La Morada and overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff were professional, attentive, and welcoming, and the place felt warm and cozy—ideal for date nights, family bonding, or barkada get-togethers. It’s conveniently located beside the road, easy to reach even when commuting, yet not noisy.
We ordered the carbonara, which featured large, flat noodles and a rich, egg-yolk–based sauce. It was flavorful and creamy, though a bit too salty for my taste. We also tried a pizza (not listed on the online menu), which was tasty but similarly on the salty side. A nice touch, however, was that the crust stayed soft even after cooling.
We were seated in a small kubo with a cozy vintage lamp and learned that Pizzeria Playa shares the space with Maribago Grill, allowing orders from both. We tried the calamares, frozen margarita, and pineapple shake from Maribago Grill—all were good and reasonably priced.
Overall, the ambiance and service were great. The pizzeria food leaned on the pricey side and could benefit from less salt, but it’s still a cozy, accessible spot worth trying if you enjoy bold flavors.
